WAIHEKE WINTER WEDDING AT MUDBRICK // ANDREW + SARAH
This was one unforgettable winter wedding. Rich red, golden, brown and dark green - perfect for Autumn/ Winter weddings. Autumn's cooler temperatures repaints nature and green almost disappears - that’s why it is my favourite time of the year for photoshoots.
The only downside for autumn / winter wedding photoshoots is daylight: the days can be a bit short. Sarah and Andrew decided to do a first look to get the photoshoot done before it got dark. ‘First look’ is becoming more and more popular in New Zealand. This is where the couple and wedding party photography is done before the ceremony, meaning the bride and groom see each other before walking down the aisle. It’s a great option for limited time shoots (daylight, or travel distances), and also offers couples a quiet moment together, to enjoy the ‘first look’ moment on their own.
Sarah and Andrew got married in July on Waiheke Island. Despite the cold and wind, the photos turned out great! I was amazed by the flowers Sarah chose (created by Flower Gallery, Waiheke Island). These were some of the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen!
Autumn/winter works for many couples, planning their wedding, it doesn't compete with the busy summer time, when everyone goes on holidays. You can usually save on wedding expenses too, most vendors can offer off peak pricing.
